Taste our typical dishes and discover the beauty of Florence
Only 300 metres from the rail station Santa Maria Novella, Osteria Il Mostrino in Florence is known
for its typical Tuscan dishes; for the renowned and almost exclusive pear and Pecorino cheese
filled "tortellacci" (pasta pockets) with fresh tomatoes, its Florentine T-bone steak "bistecca", and more… The diverse daily menu continually surprises...

The diverse daily menu continually surprises and thrills clients throughout the year which varies
to include a range of fish, vegetable, cheeses and other ingredients of the highest quality and, most importantly, which are in season.

The Osteria is close to the Ponte Vecchio, the Galleria degli Uffizi, Palazzo Strozzi, and Piazza
della Signoria, making it an ideal place to stop for lunch or dinner in the historical centre for those discovering the wonders of the “ cradle of the Renaissance” in a city where history, art and culture have coexisted in harmony forever.

Still today, as in the past, you can reach the historic Borgo San Frediano district by crossing the
Vespucci bridge and heading "Diladdarno" (south of the river). This area is known for its craftsmen workshops along the Oltrano and was recounted in Pratolini’ s famous book "Le Ragazze di San Frediano" (The Girls of San Frediano).
There are countless places of worship in this are such as the Church of San Frediano in Cestello and the Basilica di Santo Spirito, alongside numerous monuments, museums and palatial buildings unique to the world; Pitti Palace being a prime example.

The Palazzo Pitti (Pitti Palace) was the principal residence of the Medici family, later passed to
the House of Lorraine and eventually to the House of Savoy, and is connected to two other famous Florentine attractions: the Forte di Belvedere, from where you can enjoy an incredible view over the whole of Florence, and the marvellous Boboli Gardens which can be reached by four separate entrances in the city: from Ammanati’ s courtyard of the Pitti Palace, from the Forte Belvedere, from via Romana (entrance of Annalena) and from the square of Porta Romana. In addition there is another exit in piazza Pitti.

Florence is not only famous for its art however…
Osteria Il Mostrino is indeed only a few steps away from some of the most elegant streets in Florence, popular for designer shopping. You can find clothes and accessories from the most famous names in fashion, precious fabrics, unique handmade items of jewellery crafted by skilful goldsmiths and other luxury goods.

Florence is the capital of Tuscany, a region known throughout the world for its professional and unique presence in the manufacturing sector of leather goods, as can be seen in the numerous shoe boutiques and leather bag shops…of the highest quality, found in every street.

Osteria Il Mostrino is located in Borgo Ognissanti, a historical street along which even today you can find family run bakeries and grocery stores, cafés with typical Florentine cakes and sweets, up until some of the oldest craftsmen workshops, such as the characteristic jewellers lining the Ponte Vecchio and furniture and antiques shops, where you can discover some genuine period works of art.
